About Lloyd Templeton:
Lloyd Templeton is a traditional illustrator based in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Lloyd is a storyteller at heart, with a special love for making comics and graphic novels, and an interest in storyboarding, product and editorial illustration, and fine art.
As a teenager, Lloyd combined oral storytelling, original watercolour artwork, and archival research to win the Lieutenant Governor's SPIRIT of Vimy Award for achievement in recognizing Canada’s contribution to victory in the First World War. Seeing his work move people set Lloyd on a path toward a creative career. He graduated with distinction from Alberta University of the Arts with a Bachelors of Design Degree in 2023, President's Honour Roll, and is excited to be the artist of the Official 2024 Calgary Stampede Poster. Lloyd works with everything from pen and ink to oil paint.

- 2024 Calgary Stampede Poster Artist — Winner 2023
Created the winning painting that was selected to be the Official 2024 Calgary Stampede Poster. As the winning artist, Lloyd received the Dustin Peers Memorial Scholarship, generously funded by the Brandon Flock Foundation, and leaves his mark in a poster tradition that began in 1908. Over 30,000 posters are distributed worldwide annually.

Awarded by the Vimy Foundation to recognize “the outstanding service, positive contributions, notable deeds, and bravery… of young people”

Awarded by Her Honour, the Honourable Lois E. Mitchell, CM, AOE, LLD, for achievement in recognizing Canada’s contribution to victory in the First World War by combining storytelling, original artwork, and archival research. Lloyd was awarded the opportunity to travel through Belgium and France, and see the history of the First World War firsthand.
